Revision Control is for Source Code only

Well, I don’t think so;-)

I’ve been using a revision control tools to manage some configuration files since ages. Why? Here are some hints:

  • You can rollback changes.
  • You can explore the history of changes.
  • You can replicate your configuration.
  • You can backup your configuration.

No revision control tool is designed especially to manage /etc. Up to now! IsiSetup to the rescue:-)
