IsiMoin is the easy way to bring a wiki to the desktop

IsiMoin is third Isi* project gone public! The first was IsiBackup, then came IsiSetup, and now: IsiMoin, the easy Desktop wiki.

Want to try it out? First of all, you need a Debian based Linux distribution and KDE. Second, add the following to you /etc/apt/sources.list:

deb http://debian.logintas.ch

run a

sudo apt-get update

and install it:

sudo apt-get install isimoin

Now you may use your new ruby:

isimoin create-instance my_wiki

To run the wiki:

isimoin run-instance my_wiki

This should bring up a Konqueror showing the freshly created wiki.

The wiki should be awailable in the start menu, too. Have a look into the Internet section. Depending on your KDE/Gnome version, it may take a while, or even a restart of the desktop environment, to show up…

You may always contact me at simon.huerlimann@logintas.ch or leave a comment.

Good luck, and see you at irc:freenode.org/#isimoin.
